SATURDAY 7 DECEMBER 1100-1500

THE BIGGEST CHRISTMAS EVENT IN HOOK!

The Christmas Fair is a cornerstone event for the HSCA.

It kicks off the festive season early in December, and is a fantastic opportunity for the school community to get together, have fun, and raise money for the schools.

What’s on

Santa’s Grotto

Yes that’s right, Santa Claus is coming to town!

Book a trip to our magical North Pole Grotto to meet our very special Santa!

Drop off your Christmas list, have a photo with Father Christmas, and take home a special present!

Amazing Raffle!

Every year local businesses astound us with their generous donations of prizes. This year’s raffle includes:

Over 70 Prizes & Prize Value over £3,000!

You’ve got to be in it to win it!

Performance Showcase

At the heart of our Christmas Fair are the performances by the children themselves. So many children work so hard on their assemblies, or in their music clubs or lessons.

Our showcase includes performances from the schools as well as Karen Blackburn Dance Academy. Plus - a special guest!

Tinseltown Christmas Market

Right in the centre of the action is our Christmas Market, packed full of stalls from local small businesses selling crafts, bakes, sweet treats, and fabulous christmas present ideas.

Exhibitors include:

Volunteer

The Christmas Fair is important to the children - and we can’t pull it off without an army of volunteers. Teachers, Support Staff, Parents, Grandparents and Students all rally round to pull off the festive spectacular!

We need 150 volunteers, for event setup, to run a stall or game, help santa, or serve in the kitchen. If you can help for just 1 hour, please sign up using the link below.

You can volunteer with your child - they love collecting the tokens or resetting a game! Year 5s and older can run a game by themselves.

All adult volunteers are entered into a draw to win a bottle of prosecco, and all child volunteers are entered into a draw to win Fred the Elf.

11:10 - Scouts Christmas Carols

11:30 - Hook Junior School Choir

12:00 - Electric Guitar

13:00 - The Snow Queen

14:10 - Karen Blackburn Dance Academy

Santa’s Grotto

We’re very lucky to have Father Christmas himself flying in for the Christmas Fair.

Book a trip to our magical North Pole Grotto to meet our very special Santa!

Your ticket gives you access to the Grotto waiting room which is filled with activity sheets and blank letters to Santa to complete, which children can enjoy (if you wish) whilst watching a Christmas movie. Then each family is called to the Grotto for their visit with Santa. Each child receives a special gift from Santa.

One ticket required for each child visiting the Grotto. At checkout you will be asked to provide your child’s name, gender and age. This helps the elves make sure Santa has the right gifts on his sleigh! Most of our gifts this year will be suitable for boys and girls.

Slots are available online in advance. If you miss out, don’t worry, some will also be available on the day too!

Our elves have carefully curated a selection of gifts. Send your child with £2 per present per person they wish to buy for. Gifts will come sealed in a paper bag, which your little ones can take home to decorate!

Tombolas

The cornerstone of any Christmas Fair, our tombolas are always very popular. Run by the school teachers and staff, send your little ones along to try their luck pulling tickets.

Junior Tombola

On Friday 6th December, there will be a non-uniform day. Students are asked to bring in a bottle for donation to the tombola. This can be a bottle of anything, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, shampoo, washing up liquid. If it comes in a bottle - then its in! Please male sure all bottles are in-date where applicable.

Infants Tombola

The same for the infants, it’s non-uniform time on Friday 6th December. Students are asked to bring in something chocolatey for the tombola. This might be a selection box, a box of Celebrations or Heroes, a bar of chocolate, or maybe a chocolate Santa or Reindeer! Again, please make sure all chocolate is in-date!

Hart Foodbank / Christmas Toy Appeal

The HSCA will have a donations table at the Christmas Fair supporting Hart Foodbank and the Christmas Toy Appeal 2024. Bring your donations to the Raffle Table in Junior Hall and we will ensure they are passed onward to the respective groups.

The priority shortages at Hart Foodbank this week are...

  • INSTANT COFFEE

  • TEA BAGS

  • SAVOURY SPREADS (e.g. Peanut Butter, Marmite)

  • BOTTLES OF SQUASH (Orange, Lemon, etc.)

  • JAMS & PRESERVES

The Foodbank never needs sugar or bottled water and is seldom short of pasta or baked beans. Any in-date items not needed at the foodbank are passed on to The Hope Hub, a charity providing support (including food parcels) for local people who are homeless.

Thank you for your generosity.
