About Us
Your HSCA
The Hook Schools Community Association (“HSCA”) is a charity dedicated to raising funds for both the Hook Infant School and Hook Junior School in Hook, Hampshire.
If you are a parent or guardian of children currently attending one of the Hook schools, you are automatically a member - and you have a vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in September each year. Our membership also includes all teachers and staff of both schools, as well as elected friends.
All members are represented by the charity trustees who are elected at the Annual General Meeting.
Our events are organised and run by these trustees and a group of dedicated parent volunteers – our events team. We are always on the lookout for volunteers – sign up to a specific event for 1 hour or get in touch if you fancy doing more!
Volunteering at just one event or as an events team member is a great way to make friends, get to know the schools, and is extremely rewarding but also great fun!
Every year we need a huge amount of volunteers for a variety of events, some in school on weekdays, others on evenings or weekends. If one parent from every family at the school volunteered just one hour per year - we would have the volunteering slots filled several times over!
Even if you cannot volunteer, please come along to our events and join in the fun! Our largest events are the Christmas Fair (complete with Santa’s Grotto) and the Summer Fair with a great selection of family entertainment. We’re always on the lookout for new event ideas too!
See the Events Calendar for list of all events for this school year.

Your trustees
HSCA Trustees are elected members who look after the day-to-day running of the charity: ensuring it complies with our constitution and continues to benefit the schools.
The 2024/25 academic year sees a big change in the trustees, as four long-serving trustees have stepped down. With some big shoes to fill, four new trustees have stepped up from the events team.
Trustees are elected at the AGM in September. This year’s crop are:
Chris Gazzard
Christine Gregory
Tanya Piggins
Laura Powell (Treasurer)
Heidi Spooner (Secretary)
Wendy Wates
We don’t have an elected chair for this year, instead the trustee team are working as a group to get up to speed. The chair will rotate through the team during the year.
Your successes
The HSCA has been very successful over a number of years in raising significant funds for the schools. These are not down to the actions of the small number of trustees and volunteers, but down to the extraordinary generosity, particiapation and engagement by the local community with the schools.
Some of the projects that funds have been able to support include:
Playground improvements
Playdale Equipment
Laptops and Tablet Computers
Interactive Whiteboards
